What To Expect
Your first acupuncture appointment begins with a conversation about your symptoms, health history, pain, and treatment goals. Your acupuncturist will assess the areas of concern and develop an individualized treatment approach based on your needs.
Treatment may include acupuncture needles, electroacupuncture, fire cupping, or a therapeutic heat lamp, depending on what is appropriate for you. The needles are very fine, and your practitioner will explain the process and make sure you are comfortable throughout your appointment.
Some people notice a feeling of warmth, heaviness, tingling or relaxation during treatment. Your practitioner may also provide recommendations to support your recovery between appointments.
