Chiropractors use the best available evidence and clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, treat, and prevent biomechanical disorders originating from the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems. They treat these conditions without medication or surgery and work to prevent them from returning. Chiropractic care can also promote overall health and improve your quality of life.
Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment and therapy. Acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins – the body’s natural pain-relieving neurohormones – through the insertion of needles into specific anatomical points (acupuncture points) to encourage natural healing. Therapeutic effects include pain relief, increased energy, improved mood, and improved overall body function.
Your comfort is our top priority. Our practitioners ensure that you are always draped with a sheet to maintain your privacy. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please let your therapist know. You can undress and dress in privacy before and after the treatment. If you prefer to leave your clothes on, discuss with your therapist which areas can be worked on with your clothes on.
Step 1: Seek emergency services if needed. Report the accident to the police and your car insurance company. You'll likely be assigned two claim adjusters: one for the car and one for bodily injuries.
Step 2: While waiting to hear back from your insurance, you can start seeking help from a licensed Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, or Medical Doctor. At our clinic, our chiropractor will evaluate you. Contact us to inform us of your injury, and we'll send you an AB-1 form to complete. This form tells the insurance company about your symptoms post-accident. Our chiropractor will fill out an AB-2 form, create a treatment plan, and assign a diagnosis.
Step 3: Based on your injuries, you'll be categorized into one of four Whiplash Associated Disorders (WAD) categories. Most motor vehicle accidents fall within WAD 1-3. Other injuries like lower back, shoulder, or knee injuries are also included. Depending on your category, you're allowed 10-21 treatments billed directly to your car insurance within protocol. WAD 1 allows 10 combined treatments of chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy, and acupuncture. WAD 2 allows 21 combined treatments. All treatments must be completed within 90 days of your initial assessment. For more information, visit https://albertachiro.mykajabi.com/coverage.
Yes, children under 18 can receive chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupunccture with parent or guardian consent. The parent or guardian must sign the intake and consent forms. It's crucial that the child also consents and feels comfortable. We recommend shorter sessions for younger children if possible. A parent can also stay in the room during the treatment.
